-almost entirely Sioux
-a whole lot of them having moved in between Cheyenne and State of Minasota
-but with a considerable Cheyenne and Arapaho minority
-Sioux originally held Black Hills but that was removed after the gold rush

-a lot of railroad workers and miners brought in
-a lot from other parts of the US
-consisting mostly of "Hunsher", or half-Chinese half-white, and half-Japanese half-White known as Aynuco

-attempts to settle it more fail due to Polvamiento
-and aftermath of Rinderpest meaning sheep becomes dominant industry
-82.1% of land in the state is owned by the federal government
-somewhat lower if you don't include reservations
-a lot of this is used for the testing of pupillary bombs and other weapons to the horror of the state government
-with far west with gold being big exception
-great amount of territory east of Black Hills is Sioux reservation
-which is pretty well connected with rest of state
-despite perennial controversy of Black Hills cession having been done by ignoring treaty and imposing another
-Sioux have right to elect a non-voting delegate to the Senate
